Sensitivity of Chlorophyll Variability to Specific Growth Rate of Phytoplankton Equation over the Yangtze River Estuary in a Physical–Biogeochemical Model

In addition to nutrients and light, temperature plays a crucial role in marine biogeochemical processes. this study, the sensitivity of growth rate phytoplankton was systematically studied by using two-level nested physical–biogeochemical coupled model for Yangtze River estuary East China Sea. The physical component is configured from Regional Ocean Modeling System (ROMS) with highest horizontal resolution 3 km. based on carbon, silicon nitrogen ecosystem (CoSiNE). Five specific equations different relation were tested objective reproducing temporal evolution chlorophyll concentration as observed SeaWiFS. Our results indicate that equation which Geider’s work, reaches maximum at 22 °C remains constant higher temperature, can reproduce seasonal variation very well, may be suitable application (ROMS-CoSiNE) estuary.
